Q & A

Q: How do you start your day?
A: A cup of hot Americano—the warmth that energizes you as you start each day.

Q: Where do you usually hang out?

A: Internet: researching information and browsing interesting people and things.

Learning is an essential daily practice: staying informed about the world’s ever-growing body of knowledge, taking it in, and continually updating myself. Art is not confined to my consciousness; finding ways to connect with the world is my philosophy.

Q: Which restaurant do you go to most often?
A:Mingde Vegetarian RestaurantGradually, I’ve been wanting to eat more vegetarian meals and put my commitment to environmental sustainability into practice.

Q: What do you do for fun after work?
A: Zoning out! Just spacing out alone in a space~~~ With so much information to take in every day, and everything changing so quickly, whenever I have some free time each day, I spend a while letting my mind go blank, settling and sorting through my emotions. It’s similar to the idea of Zen meditation, but I’m more inclined to just clear my mind and reset. I really love zoning out.

Q: What’s a book you’ve read recently? Did it leave you with any insights or thoughts?
A: Semiotics—study the symbols behind labels, then break free of them! Everything in the world speaks a language of symbols. When we are confined by a set of conventions, how can we transform them through creativity? By understanding them first!

Q: What do you find most interesting or appealing about Taiwan?
A: Convenience stores. Taiwan’s convenience stores are like a kaleidoscope, and I’m sure everyone can relate to how convenient they are. When I lived in Milan, I really missed Taiwan’s convenience stores.

Q: What do you look forward to most when staying at a hotel?

A: Design and comfort. Whether traveling for work or taking a break on a trip, a hotel offers a sense of belonging in an unfamiliar place, like a home where you can truly relax. That’s why comfort is so important. Stepping away from your usual surroundings and staying in an environment filled with diverse design styles feels like an adventure through an urban jungle—and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Q: What is your impression of the hotels under Taipei Inn?
A: Each hotel has its own distinctive character and is located in a very convenient area. These hotels place great importance on art and culture, allowing travelers from around the world to experience the local culture and warmth. They value not only comfortable service, but also the spirit of Taiwanese art and culture. In doing so, they go beyond the conventional image of a hotel and embody the value of Taiwan’s land.
